Let's, uh, start first with Finns and then, yes, why don't we ask about Nordic countries?
4:28
Whenever a country gets top, it changes the way their tourist operations work.
4:33
It changes the way people speak in governments and prime ministers speak and research institutes start or not.
4:41
So when Denmark was top at the beginning, there was the Danish Happiness Research Institute started and many books written about hygge, which is the, uh, Swedish form of getting together in warm and comforting ways.
4:56
And now that Finland is top, people are saying, "What is the magic of the sauna?" [laughs] The point is, every society has got its own way of enabling warmer personal connections.
5:08
Those kind of caring connections, respect for each other within a system where people generally like each other, respect each other, and watch each other's backs, where the dropping of wallets is a classic case that I like best of all because it turns out we managed to get in a one round of the Gallup World Poll a question, how likely is a wallet to be returned if you lost it by a police officer or a stranger and so on? It turns out that more than almost anything else among the variables we had to believe in that you lived in that kind of open-hearted, generous community really did make you feel good about your life as a whole.
5:48
The very specificity of that question means, hey, we can go out and drop wallets and see to what extent these international differences are matched by rates of wallet return, and it turns out that there is a heavyCorrelation that the countries where people think their wallets will be turned are indeed countries where it's most likely.

If you could please tell us how the rankings are compiled.
5:18
At that time, 1975, was there still elements of more improvisation, or were you more set to what you were recording?
5:26
Well, it depends, it depends on the number.
5:28
But trying to think of the solos back then.
5:32
Pretty much improvised in the moment, really.
5:35
For example, Bloody Well Right is on there.
5:38
That's just ...
5:39
It's not something that's a s- a stock solo of mine.

I think since we spoke last time, you actually did a full release of that, uh, Super Big Tramp band album.
