So how does the puppy go from birth to ending up in the pet store window?
20:53
So there are puppy mills all over the country, and a lot of them will sell to these puppy brokers who are middlemen between the puppy mill...
21:04
in the pet store and the reason they have this broker service is because it makes it easy for these pet stores they can contact a broker who's going to have this large variety of puppies from assortment of different puppy mills from there the puppies are crammed into these white cargo vans And they put about 160 puppies into a single cargo van before they start driving them across the country and dropping them off at stores along the route.

And then from there, the puppies usually live about two weeks in those glass display cases before they ultimately go home with whoever buys them.

So my question to you is, if somebody is going to purchase a puppy from a breeder, what do they need to know about that breeder to make sure that they're dealing with somebody who's above board?
24:26
An above board breeder or responsible breeder will be proud to meet you in person, introduce you to the mother dog, and show you where the mother dog lives.
24:35
There's three simple steps.
24:38
meet the breeder in person, meet the mother dog, see her with your own eyes, and see where she lives.
