Aug 25, 2026

33:15
Uh, John, you've been listening to, uh, your colleagues, Mustafa Bandey, Andrew, and also Adam, who are all saying that they're quite surprised at your utterances that, uh, that should not be coming from a certain member of Parliament.
33:32
Well, I, I, I'm not worried at all.
33:34
Um, they can say all the things they want to say about me.
33:38
Uh, if I believe that the, uh, comments of Sam George Afrey about the minority leader is silly, I will repeat it.
33:48
I believe that it wa- they were silly.
33:50
Uh, there's no foundation.
33:52
If Sam George Afrey really felt that he had been extorted, uh, he wouldn't have waited till this last, uh, minute when he had his back a- against the wall to now, uh, throw this tantrum.
36:23
I- in your departing words, what do you have to say?
16:19
Do you agree with him?
16:21
Well, I mean, I think it's clear that, um, government has moved from the position that was, you know, advanced by the committee that they set up.
16:32
I mean, I, I, I am not surprised that the NDC government behaves this way because it, it's the NDC when they were in opposition, they fought against the proposal that the previous administration brought.
16:44
The proposals that the Nana Addo administration brought, uh, at the time for, I think it was 2019, um, 2019, um, referendum that was eventually scrapped, was one, to enable the political parties to sponsor a candidate and then to enable the voters to directly vote, um, for who will become their, um, chief executive.
17:15
And so Nana Addo's government, we would let the political parties sponsor one person in, and then the...
17:23
So NDC will sponsor yours, NPP will sponsor theirs, and then they will be presented to the people for the people to vote for one.
17:31
The NDC fought against this, and they said that, "No, we don't want a situation where, uh, the political parties will be involved.
22:18
And, you know-

Who's got the sauce?
0:30
If the MC of Suami constituency or the Suami municipal is an MPP person and the government wants to build markets, the MC will say no. There's no way, because remember, the president is the president of the whole country.
0:47
And the municipal assemblies and district assemblies, they all come together to form Ghana.
0:51
So the president has authority over every territory in the country.
0:55
And so if there's a president who has a policy and wants to implement it across the length and breadth of the country, he can do that.
1:01
He doesn't need municipal or district assemblies support to do that.
1:07
Do you understand? And so I think that the NDC government should come up with a better reason for this decision they are taking, because you cannot tell me, I am not convinced, that if a government in power wants to implement a particular policy.

The question on political witch-hunt was not a subject of litigation at the ECOWAS Court.
37:12
At the ECOWAS Court, um, it was basically about, um, the process leading to her removal Okay.
37:21
So let's, let's get things straight, uh, Samson.
37:23
