How do you think about, as a collector who's been around and seen the whims of the market ebb and flow, how do you think about identifying the good stuff?
J
24:32John CoteGUEST
Uh, the one thing about the good stuff is what we just talked about, which is condition and originality.
J
24:46John CoteGUEST
So condition and originality is part of what the good stuff is, and that's, that's a quantifiable thing.
J
24:53John CoteGUEST
The qualitative thing about that is, you know, good stuff is what people like, what the market likes at the time.

Would you say that there's a component of self-education that partly NAWCC provides, fellow collectors provide, these various events that we end up going to, they provide some firsthand knowledge, expertise, compare, contrast? To what extent is a collector perhaps more knowledgeable than just a hoarder?
J
11:37John CoteGUEST
Well, again, I've got to be careful because the organization is, you know, I strive to make everybody happy, even though I know it's so I make myself unhappy in doing that.
J
11:47John CoteGUEST
The money thing is interesting, too, because I think that even people who say that the money part of it and the value of their collection doesn't mean anything to them, usually wealthy people, but sometimes not.
J
12:12John CoteGUEST
There is the hoarding of the wealthy person who, as you said, just can go out and spend as much money as they want on anything.
