Were there elements of that that you felt you could really transfer across?
8:06
Absolutely.
8:07
I think, you know, I think people talk often about, you know, are people, you know, are you a born leader? Are you a trained leader? Is it acquired? And, you know, I think there's probably an element of both, but I think I believe deeply in training and, you know, the military, the leadership training, you know, I can speak for leadership training in the Marine Corps because that's where I serve.
8:27
But, you know, an extraordinary amount of the training time was devoted to how to lead and how to follow it.
8:34
You know, it takes both.
8:37
And I think, you know, it's funny, some people, a lot of people are surprised when they find out I was in the military, particularly the Marine Corps.
8:43
It seems to surprise people.

25 MINS LATER

mean by that, John.

How well supported has this been from the business community given people are going to have to overhaul their entire menus?
16:46
I think there was significant discussion as this legislation was developed and this seemed to be one of the simple methods and not a rigorous ask to actually have restaurants, cafes, pubs, etc., food service, provide those A, I or M against a particular menu or dish.
17:09
I think throughout some of these places, menus change somewhat regularly or similarly regularly, so I don't think it has been a significant burden.

How much difference do you think this change to labelling is going to make to Australian fishers?
17:24
I would like to think that it would provide greater awareness for Australian consumers in general.
17:31
And I think one of the interesting aspects, and I think this is something that's probably not particularly well known amongst consumers of seafood in restaurants, is that over 64% of all the seafood eaten in Australia is actually imported.
17:50
And given that we have the third largest exclusive economic zone in the world, I think that would probably come as a shock or a surprise to many consumers.
18:02
So just being able to be informed, it's a good step.
47:47
Correct
47:47
...
47:47
when it's management's job that didn't give me, you know, didn't give you enough colleagues.
47:52
So by staffing them better, they're being able to do a better job.
47:55
So this is, this is, this is, I think, really amazing, engaged, passionate employees that have been there all along, you know, freeing them to do what they've always been re- you know, able and ready to do.
48:08
Uh, and this isn't, you know, this isn't just, you know, the last...
48:11
This, this is gonna take a while.
50:58
What, what branch of the military?
