34:51
What have you found works for somebody that is experiencing that?
34:57
Yep.
34:57
So, okay.
34:59
So one of the very first games, improv games that I play with the group, it's a, uh, it's a game called Road Trip.
35:05
I bring three audience volunteers, we sit in chairs.
35:08
I assign each one an emotion, anger, happy, sad, scared, or something else.
35:14
The first person's on stage by themselves, right? And the other three, me and the other two volunteers are gonna come in one at a time as hitchhikers, okay? Once we come in, into their car, we all take on the last emotion.

[chuckles]
18:05
Why do you believe fun is such an important ingredient to success in today's workplace?
18:09
workplace?Fun means something different.
18:11
I think we have to define that.
18:13
Fun means something different for everyone.
18:15
Your fun, my fun is completely different.
18:18
And some people think overall fun is, you know, free pizza and free cupcakes, and, uh, you know, uh, we're gonna have a ping pong table in the break room.
18:28
And all that is fun, that's great.

9 MINS LATER

27:01
So how do you respond to re- to, to leaders who believe work should be serious and not fun?
17:04
this is Joel.
17:05
I...
17:05
It, it was like when Spider-Man doesn't know how to use his powers.
17:09
It was a lot like that.
17:11
[laughs] It was me just bumping into walls in high school, just, you know, just being, just, you know, not understanding how to use your powers.
17:19
Uh, and, uh, yes, yeah.
17:21
I remember, you know, whimsy and fun has always been a guiding light for me.

14 MINS LATER

31:36
Um, you know, where did you learn that from? Was it from great business experiences? Was it some bad business experiences?
7:28
How in the world do you, we maintain joy in the middle of all that, and what's the effect of all that pressure on us?
7:36
So in my keynotes, I use improvisation.
7:39
That's one of my backgrounds.
7:40
In, in improv, there's no script, there's no rehearsal, everything is constant change.
7:45
And so it's you're finding success during that constant change.
7:49
And what it taught me is that you have to embrace it.
7:51
You can't be scared of it.
10:28
... "help me understand, where do I get grou- where do I get grounded in all this? Where does somebody start?"
