But how do you design guardrails so that agents basically can self-heal bottlenecks when they are triggered instead of these cascading systemic failures that could come?

Joe VaccaroGUEST
know when you think about how you do that um obviously you know within your agent skill design you know it's really critical to understand okay well what are the what are the rights that this agent has uh what should you not do and how do you be explicit in designing it but then also one of the important things is that um you know there's a an issue back from my thousand days where there's a lot of set of like hidden dependencies.

Joe VaccaroGUEST
And, you know, we saw issues where, you know, people were having a application outage and they say, well, why was that outage? OK, well, it's because I was using a a external network service for maybe a load balancer or a CDN.

Joe VaccaroGUEST
Okay, well, that CDN, nothing changed in that CDN, but that CDN just happened to be hosted in a public cloud provider, and that public cloud provider had an outage at that point in time.

Joe VaccaroGUEST
Now, what I was trying to highlight here is that this notion of nested dependencies.

Joe VaccaroGUEST
And so when you think about an agent, that runs on a model, you say, well, nothing changed within my skills.

Joe VaccaroGUEST
Well, the underlying model might change or the underlying model became jailbroken for some reason that could create this notion of a change in the output that is unforeseen.

When you look back and if you study history and you think about the great industrial revolutions, whether it was factories and others, and you can think of the internet as part of that industrial revolution.

Joe VaccaroGUEST
It changed the economy from every single way for not only how do we do business, but how business gets done.

Joe VaccaroGUEST
And now if you think about this ne-next big wave in AI, it's feeling like it's having the same impacts on business, the same way if you go back to the early two thousands and the rise of that internet economy.

Joe VaccaroGUEST
Now we're in this AI era, and it's impacting businesses in a variety of different ways.

Joe VaccaroGUEST
It's one, as we see AI being infused across the business, it's changing about how business gets done.

Joe VaccaroGUEST
But then also it becomes this massive productivity change when we think about how do we empower our employees to leverage AI to be able to help them get their work done faster.
