Nonetheless, would you briefly share with the listeners how the post hoc power analysis satisfies the need to attain adequate power to detect a minimum clinically meaningful effect size for comparing your two cohorts?
9:24
I appreciate the question because it's one of the major challenges when studying infection after total ankle arthroplasty.
9:30
The key point of the power analysis was not intended necessarily to prove that no difference exists.
9:35
Rather, it helped define the magnitude of the difference of our study that it was capable of detecting.
9:42
Using our sample size, we reported approximately 83% power to detect a 3% absolute difference in infection rates between group, which we considered a clinically meaningful threshold.
9:53
At the same time, because infections are fortunately uncommon, detecting very small differences would require thousands of patients per group.
10:02
Based on our observed infection rates, roughly 2,300 patients per group would be needed to reliably detect a difference of that magnitude.
11:40
So we certainly don't want to leave a cement spacer, but sometimes in in challenging situations that does provide an alternative but with regard to table three and the overall management of these infections based on what you have learned about deep total ankle arthroplasty prosthetic joint infection when is it acceptable to retain the metal components or to perform a one-stage total ankle revision to total ankle arthroplasty

I'll be out here in the vicarage with my kids, with my vica- with my kids and my missus."
22:03
And that's, um, uh, a mansion's okay, right?
23:03
Say hello to your 72 virgins, bitch." [laughs]
