gigging that album and just exploring ourselves as a band we're helping to develop the new sound for the next album so we're all having our own individual input in in the writing process as well

yeah with this second bunch of songs it's a very different process so it's been Adi and I sat down writing together normally just sat around the piano aren't we and just trying out ideas and lyrics and so on and so forth but I think part of the fun thing is then handing this kind of sketched outline of a song handing it to the other members of the band and as Addy says just saying do your thing because when you hand it to Neil on the drums or Tommy on the keys or Daisy on the bass they can take it in a totally different direction to what you envisaged and I think the key is to kind of be able to let go and let them do their thing and then you can be really pleasantly surprised by how a song can go in a different way to what you might have envisaged.

It's almost like you get to hear the song a second time.

You see what I mean? And that's part of the fun and part of the adventure, rather than being too structured and too rigid in what you want to create.
