How do you see that pressure play out and how important is it compared to how detrimental can it be from your own experiences of being a young gymnast and going into it as you did to now coaching the younger generation in doing it?
21:12
It's a really tricky thing to pinpoint because I think the direct effects of gymnastics are vastly different between children because I'll see children that come into the sport, can do absolutely everything and then get, just without even trying, and you have children like that, get really bored very quickly because they've not had any resistance, and then leave.
21:38
I've seen children, ultimately maybe the other way, who struggled in the sport a little bit, but ultimately the wins felt a little bit bigger because when they got there, they'd struggled to get them.

And I think the best thing about gymnastics is it teaches what I stand for now, which is adversity and resilience.
21:57
Because in gymnastics, to do a skill, you're falling over 99 times to get something a little bit better on the 100th.

Last night, I was coaching some of my younger gymnasts and they're trying to perfect somersaults.
22:14
Sometimes, even when their somersaults are landing on their feet, maybe their run-up's not the best, or maybe their take-off's not the best, maybe their head or their eye positioning, maybe their chin, so many different things.

That for me is a good outcome for life.
