4:22
Yeah.
4:23
Yeah, so there was all that kind of thing.
4:26
Anyway, he was a gorgeous, gorgeous kid, really skinny and tiny, but biggest beaming smile you'd ever see and just loved to squeal and with laughter and everything.
4:41
He was just the most gorgeous little baby.
4:43
And when he was 12 months old, we were visiting my parents in a different state, and he sort of had a weird episode where he didn't recognise us, which really distressed me a lot.
5:02
So my mum reached out to a family friend in the hometown that was a paediatrician, and He was a great guy and he actually gave up a lunch hour so he could see us while we were there.
5:15
And he ordered all these blood tests and everything.
6:50
that not to cut you off but that's terrifying because it's such a scientific thing they're telling you and you know people i i'm i don't know anything about what any of that means and if someone says oh there's a there's a chromosome is not how it should be or and they give you all of this talk but actually beyond that we don't know we don't know Do they give you any idea even remotely like what that might look like? Is that, oh, by the way, there could be learning difficulties or by the way, this could mean this or do they just literally leave you to crack on and see what happens?
1:34
What do leaders still misunderstand about the relationship between flexibility and high performance?
1:41
Okay.
1:42
Well, that's a really big question, but I'll do my best with it.
1:47
So basically, um, flexibility in the workplace isn't really asking for luxuries or perks or things like that.
1:56
Nobody's asking for, uh, you know, the vice president's car space.
2:01
Nobody's asking for purple lighting and disco balls.
2:05
All they're asking for is just things that help them to perform at their best, to perform at standard, for example.

12 MINS LATER

14:33
Yeah.
21:53
It's just can you see this being something that could be passed on as in is it a skill set and a job role that can be created?
22:05
I'm not sure.
22:08
I tend to lean heavily into my own experience and my own knowledge, my own experience.
22:17
I guess my own neurodiversity because I'm hyper-focused.
22:20
So basically when people talk to me and tell me their stories and, you know, their solutions, what they did in that situation.
22:28
I take that on board.
22:29
And then when it comes up later, I remember that.

36 MINS LATER

58:07
it.
