I hadn't quite thought of it in those terms, in terms of exposing and presenting Nick Clegg to the country.

Jo CoburnGUEST
I, I suppose slightly differently at the time, and I know this is about the coalition talks, but I remember thinking, "There is no way David Cameron is going to do a deal with Gordon Brown." And Nick Clegg was so much closer, just i- in the look, the approach, the wing of the party that he was in, and I didn't see the TV debates in that sense.

Jo CoburnGUEST
And the news channel, as was then, asked me at the very last minute on the evening, could I do the running commentary of all the leaders arriving? Uh, yes, yes, that's fine.

Jo CoburnGUEST
So I sat down in the booth at Westminster where we've all worked, and sure enough, all the leaders come in.

Jo CoburnGUEST
So yes, I recognized Barack Obama and Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel, and then it dawned on me that I was beginning to struggle a little bit [laughing] with who was coming after.
