6:02
And you mentioned there had been sort of broader licensing activity in the West Africa region?
6:11
Yes.
6:12
So as Archie already touched upon at the AEW conference, the Liberia bid round was launched on the 14th of October.
6:22
So this is the 2026 direct negotiation licensing round, which Yeah, probably needs a bit of explaining because, you know, direct negotiation, licensing around kind of sounds like an oxymoron.
6:35
But it's this hybrid process that, you know, you start off with maybe a more standard competitive tender approach where you have deadlines for pre-qualification and to submit a letter of intent, which that deadline is the 15th of April next year.
6:53
And then Beyond that, there is no essential deadline for the bid submission process.
7:03
It's kind of basically you enter then into direct negotiations.

10 MINS LATER

16:37
Yeah, I'm
2:18
Yeah.
2:19
So yeah, you're right.
2:19
They...
2:20
And he signed an MOU at GasTech last week for five blocks, five offshore blocks.
2:28
And sort of the backdrop for this is Senegal basically re-demarcated all of their petroleum acreage.
2:37
I think the initial sort of re-demarcation was approved by the council ministers back in March.
2:42
And then it's kind of in Q3, it's been kind of formalized.

15 MINS LATER

18:15
i think that would be my guess too i just sort of i figured i'd ask it um if we've thrashed cotovore and ghana to bits then we can move to angola deep water block awards but if we've missed anything feel free to throw it in before we move
7:04
Tell me more, please.
7:07
Okay.
7:08
I'll take this one.
7:09
Um, so yeah, this was actually announced just a couple of days ago, um, at the NOG Energy Week conference in Abuja.
7:19
Um, so Renaissance Africa Energy Company is basically a, a group or consortium formed from, uh, ND Western, Aradel Energy, First E&P, Walter Smith, and Pet- Petrolin.
7:36
Uh, and they acquired, you know, basically Shell's, uh, onshore and shallow water assets last year.
7:43
Um, so I think around 18 JV licenses.

6 MINS LATER

13:19
So, uh, yeah, tell me a bit more, please.
5:13
I mean, that one's huge.
5:16
Yeah, that's a pretty big one, 15 blocks all offshore.
5:20
it actually was interesting i was having this discussion in the office the other day about i was looking along the atlantic margin sub-saharan africa being like okay there's all this activity and guinea sort of stood out as this prior of just complete open acreage like no activity and you're like i'm sort of looking at like something's gonna happen here surely um i wish i'd made some sort of noises about it so that people would actually you know because it just sounds like i'm saying it after the fact um but Yeah, it's a sizeable entry just under 50,000 square kilometres, 15 blocks.
5:56
It's a year reconnaissance licence with an option to extend it by the end of the year.
6:01
So yeah, they get like a preferential...
6:04
Well, no, so they don't get any preferential right to obtain a full PSC, but if a third party comes in, tries to pick up one of the blocks under its recon permit, then they have sort of first right of refusal.
6:16
Yeah.
9:16
It was never declared a recon license, but was that basically a recon license without it being called a recon license? And as you point out, is that what's going on in Gabon?
