So what did you actually have to give up to get out of your own way and get out of the day-to-day? I think one of the
11:32
biggest things you need to give up is control.
11:34
It's sort of like an OCD, but I just feel like it's your baby, your business is your baby, and it's handing over the reins to someone else and being able to trust somebody else to make decisions, day-to-day decisions that you would make that you've got to just just let go of that control of how it's going to be run and it started off I guess when my phone started going crazy and I was taking up to at that point probably two to three hundred calls a month and I was still sort of on the tools a bit I had two guys working for me and I was doing smaller jobs here and there and trying to deal with the phone and schedule the jobs and do all of that all at the same time and it kind of it just got really overwhelming I mean there were moments where I thought to myself I could just Drive my van off the jetty at Deepwater Point and leave the phone and everything in there and swim off to the beach and relax in the sun and be done with it all.
12:22
I was just over it.
12:24
And that's when another plumber mate of mine put me onto a call centre, a local call centre based in Perth.
12:31
And I think that was the first step of relinquishing the phone and trusting someone else to be the sort of first point of contact of the business.
12:39
And obviously liaising with the customers, booking time, scheduling the jobs for the guys, all that stuff, knowing who was good at what job and who was where and where the areas were and where they were going.

I'd love for you to just talk about your experience with both of those and how they helped to grow the business.
