So a person who works and pays into the system for 10 years has this Part A premium free.

Well, what about a spouse to that individual? Well, the spouse can qualify under their spouse's 10 year work history even if they've not worked.

So similarly now into the Social Security, a spouse can qualify for, so the lower, and this is not gender, this is by lower income, lower social security benefit spouse is entitled to up to 50% of their higher earning spouse's PIA, whatever that they're claiming it.

So, In real numbers, if my wife makes more money than me, her benefit when she claims it is $2,000.
