Uh, what were some of the highs and lows [laughs] of your time in government? Uh, what are you most proud of?

Oh, uh, I have lots of things to be proud of.

Um, I worked with Peter DeFazio, um, passing Wild and Scenic Rivers Acts where we protected lots of, of rivers.

Um, when I worked for the Oregon Natural Resources Council, which is now Oregon Wild, we filed litigation that saved a lot of forests from logging.

Uh, most recently, I was successful in merging four sort of archaic government flood safety agencies into a single agency that has climate and social justice and environmental responsibilities that are new.

So I've just been super fortunate-

Mm-hmm.

But I remember many days tallying the numbers of calls that were coming into the office and working late with the staff to respond to the emails that came in.
