Sure.
52:23
And, uh, Dan said, "Well, I wanna make a Poco record." And I said, "Dan," I said, "That's not something I can do, and I'll tell you why." I said, "I just spent the last three years of my life making Poco records.
52:36
They were too country for rock and too rock for country.
52:39
Couldn't get any airplay, and I couldn't make a living." And I said, "I just cannot go down that road again.
52:45
If that's something you wanna do or need to do, you're gonna have to find somebody else to do it." So I chose not to do that.
52:52
Then Don Ellis calls me, who I had never met before.
52:55
He had been hired by Clive Davis as a creative artist development.
57:13
Very auspicious.
36:04
Hmm.
36:04
All right.
36:05
So I would say a couple things.
36:07
One, I think the most important thing in the world right now is taking over one of the two chambers, if not both.
36:12
[laughs] Like, if we don't put a brake on this guy, w-we are not gonna have a fair election in 2028.
36:18

36:20

Right.

So why do you suspect the administration is staying with this, to the extent it is? It's some cosmetic pullbacks and changes of leadership and that kind of thing, but the policy remains.
27:16
Yeah, their overall theory is don't show weakness and continue to go on here.
27:19
I mean, they're not making these cosme- cosmetic changes because they woke up and said, "Oh, my gosh, this is a great idea." They woke up and saw a poll and saw these numbers, and Willie, you and I have not seen numbers move like this.
27:31
Having a majority of Republicans now say this is wrong, independents, 75% of independents say this is wrong...
27:38
I mean, these are, these are real numbers.
27:40
It used to be the bedrock of the Republican Party.
27:43
His coalition that he got to win the presidency was based on immigration, and now when even that's falling apart, they have real problems, and they can't get back to the issue that really is killing them, which is the economy and affordability.

19 MINS LATER

You put that together with what the scenes we're seeing in the streets of Minneapolis and elsewhere, and the general chaos, as you said earlier, what does that portend for Democrats who appear to have something of a winning hand here? How do they keep it in November?
