And, um, but then, um, and then we lived in Wyoming for a while, and there were, and people boarding horses on our place, but, you know, so on and off, but never professionally, you know, just, you know, because, you know, when you, once you like horses, you like horses, and every time you can be around them, you're around them.

But then in, um, 1990, um, seven, um, I ended up in Iowa, you know, earlier than that, but I met my wife there.

She, uh, I was working on a horse farm just on the ground, but I met her there.

But in 1997, I was kind of between jobs and, and was just kinda look- deciding what do I wanna do next.

And, um, there was a l- a local show barn in Fairfield, Iowa, and they had a trainer, and they, the trainer needed a groom to haul horses to the shows and take care of them at the shows.

And so Conley said, "Why don't you go to work for Val as a groom?" And, um, and I said, "Sure, why not?" You know? And so I did.
