What impact are you seeing? And I think you may have answered in your most recent question, but what impact are you seeing from these recent changes specifically?

Jim FilterGUEST
Yeah, so we're already seeing that the market is changing, that probably half the capacity that's exited has exited, but there's another half in front of us.

Lance GlynnHOST
And even when this in the cycles where demand is low, things are still moving smoothly.

Have you seen the, a reduction in turnover in drivers recently? Uh, or are you seeing because there's demand for qualified drivers and obviously the, the drivers at Schneider are quite qualified, um, you know, that's keeping it, making it harder to keep folks?

Jim FilterGUEST
Uh, I feel good about our, our, where we're at from a turnover standpoint, the ability to reinvest in people and ultimately the relationships that we're building with our entire driver workforce.

Jim FilterGUEST
I think what really stands out for us is the fact that we have this diverse portfolio.

Jim FilterGUEST
And so there's a lot of drivers that come into the industry, uh, and they'll start with us in a, a network configuration, uh, where they're out over the road for a long period of time, and then later they get to a point in their life where they wanna have a little bit more steady routine.

Jim FilterGUEST
Uh, and, you know, as they progress through their, their life, sometimes they wanna buy a truck, and we'll, we have a financing arm that helps drivers buy their own truck and continue to operate with us.

Jim FilterGUEST
So we're really focused on hire to retire is the way that we think about it, and giving drivers opportunities.

Jim FilterGUEST
First of all, uh, with drivers, we're, we're always looking to add driver capacity into our industry.

Jim FilterGUEST
And in the first place that we're able to help our drivers is make them more productive.

Jim FilterGUEST
And so we're really proud of what we've been able to do in the first quarter, that we've seen, you know, double digit increase in productivity that's putting more money into their pockets and it's really just a matter of having more freight available for them to take advantage of.

Jim FilterGUEST
And then the second piece is we are increasing driver wages in specific markets, uh, tapping into other recruiting opportunities to be able to, to grow our, our driver capacity.

Jim FilterGUEST
Um, but long-term, you know, you mentioned autonomous vehicles, there's a place that we see an opportunity here, um, but still expect that we're gonna have drivers that are making first and l- uh, last mile deliveries, but perhaps the autonomous vehicle helps us, uh, with the, the line haul portion of it.

What does all of this mean for pricing and the cost of transportation as we look to the second half of the year here and the holiday season and the like?
