Uh, an inch or two or three in a day, I don't know, right? Um, today, what do we look for outside of the house and inside of the house after a, the first heavy rain in months?
27:21
Well, the big, the big one you're gonna wanna look for is to see if you got standing water because if you have standing water, you got a drainage issue that needs to be taken care of.
27:30
Now, if, if the water disappears in an hour or two, that's no big deal.
27:35
But if the water's sitting there for four, five, 10 hours, it's causing you problems because, uh, you know, just like when the soil dries out and shrinks, it, it causes foundation prob- problems.

What do we need to do for our furnace before we go, uh, go, uh, with the heat this, this year?
33:50
Well, especially if you have gas ones, you've gotta have that checked out because i- if the, uh, the flame's not w- proper, you can have carbon monoxide coming out.
34:03
Uh, if you've got an older one that's, that has the, the pot, it can have a crack in it, and flames can come out and cause fires.
34:11
Uh, but even electric ones, you wanna get them checked annually to make sure that there's not something...
30:15
For people that are worried about their foundation, which crack should scare you? Um, when's it time to say, "I better call Jim Dutton at, uh, Due West Foundation and Plumbing"?
30:25
You know, when you first start seeing a problem, that's when it's time to call, because m- if you take care of it early on, you're not having to do foundation repair, you're doing preventative maintenance.
30:37
And that's a whole lot less expensive than foundation repair.
34:59
Jim Dutton, anything else you want to share as we're, uh, still in the waning weeks and month or two, whatever is left of month of summer and the hell of Texas, uh, heat?
35:09
Well, if you have not been watering the foundation, you are so far behind it's unreal.
35:14
You need to get soaker hoses out and get it going.
35:17
You, you need to do like Chris did and let it run for two, three weeks to get it started.
32:14
yeah
32:14
i recommend to people all the time go with a class four shingle really single i have that on my house uh okay i went with a shingle brand called f wave and uh they just got upped where it is right now the highest rated shingle available period and you know the advantage is when hail storms come in

32:37
yeah
32:38
when your neighbors are getting new roofs you're not paying that deductible So yes, you pay a little bit more for the roof up front, but our deductibles have gotten so high.
32:50
It saves you a ton of money.
32:52
And if you haven't called your insurance company yet, you'll typically get a reduction in your insurance costs for a class four.
35:19
What do we need to know about real quick things about if you're going to hire a roofer, don't do this or do this so that you don't get ripped off? I say go to BlueRibbonDFW.com, but go ahead.
35:30
Well, the first thing is you go to a roofer who's in business here in the area.
35:34
Don't, you know, when hailstorms come through, don't pick up somebody who's knocking on your door, who's from out of town and says, oh, let me take care of that for you.
35:44
Use the guys that have a brick and mortar office.
35:47
They're legit.
35:48
That's a huge issue.
35:50
Every single year, people get ripped off because they sign away their insurance or they hand the check to a roofer and he just disappears.
