16:04
Oh, yeah, it was a thing.
16:05
Everybody's going to dress up.
16:06
It's going to be great.
16:07
Hey, what are you going to do at Radio X, guys? Are you going to dress up? Oh, come on.
16:13
Don't be like that.
16:13
Like, everybody...
16:15
You should see Sarah from sales.

1 HR 21 MINS LATER

97:10
For who, Jill?
8:31
What was the key tip i- you picked up with regards to investing?
8:37
Oh, loads, loads of stuff.
8:39
I think, one, when I thought, say, my money was in my bank account, I was like, "Well, at least it's mine.
8:45
It's there.
8:46
It's not doing anything." But really it's, it's losing money.
8:50
Um, so I think that was a big one.
8:53
I was like, "Oh, well, I don't wanna be losing money." I thought, "Oh, well, it's safe." And then I think I was like, it was so interesting because it's not like people were investing everything they got.
13:41
But it is a real difficult psychological barrier to get past, I think.
39:57
Let's have a listen, shall we?
39:58
So my prediction for the England-Argentina game is 1-0.
40:02
Ollie Watkins is going to come on 80 minutes and get that winner.
4:21
... and know that they've played against me, that they're gonna feel a bit, like, roughed up."
4:24
I was dying to get on because, uh, Keira Walsh, Georgia Stanway, they'd literally ran every single minute in midfield.
4:33
So they'd done about six, seven games.
4:35
And, uh, my legs felt fresh because obviously I hadn't played a lot, and I could see they were starting to cramp a little bit, and rightfully so.
4:43
They'd covered so much ground, probably 11K a game they'd covered.
4:47
So I was like, "Get us on." Like, "I wanna help.
4:49
I wanna help." So I was excited to come onto the pitch, and I was like, "I'm just gonna run as much as I can, get in people's faces, make it difficult." And I think that was my game, really.

7 MINS LATER

11:35
He's now younger than me.
37:19
Uh, do- does it feel exciting to be going down a, a, a kind of memory lane trip, if you like?
37:24
like?Yeah, it really does.
37:26
It really does.
37:26
Like, each of them clubs mean so much to me.
37:29
Even, like, my...
37:30
I only had five months at Villa, but without that five months at Villa, I would never have made that Euros squad.
37:37
So I, I owe them so much.
42:12
How, h- what have you made of their progress, uh, so far and, uh, and the future going into the World Cup?
34:05
Uh, d- does it feel exciting to be going down a, a, a kind of memory lane trip, if you like?
34:10
Yeah, it really does.
34:11
It really does.
34:12
Like, each of them clubs mean so much to me.
34:15
Even, like, my, I only had five months at Villa, but without that five months at Villa, I would never have made that Euros squad.
34:23
So I, I owe them so much.
34:25
I, I really do, and they looked after us really well as well.
38:57
How, uh, what have you made of their progress, uh, so far and, a- and the future going into the World Cup?
27:21
[laughs]
27:21
They just have to go.
27:22
They can't stay.
27:23
They're taking up space.
27:25
A girlfriend of mine had asked me about what to do.
27:31
She said she wanted a man.
27:33
And I was like, "Hmm, maybe make some space for one." A physical manifestation of a, of a dream or an idea that you want, it becomes real.
30:34
Mm-hmm
19:02
And I feel like that's when you do enough running... you can actually squash a lot of time through dead space because you do it so repetitively.
19:11
Yeah.
19:11
Maybe I thought the two were so different because when I was in a football match, obviously I'd be reacting to things that happened, looking at my teammates.
19:19
But I suppose when you actually break a dam, you're reacting to so much that's happening in the races.
19:25
Whereas I probably... never seen it like that I suppose in in my head but you know what I'm so grateful and so thankful to the running training because I'll sit here and say and people always think I say this and I'm saying it for attention I'm not I was a very average footballer but my engine and my work rate was the thing that got us through because I'd look at my opponent and I'd be like I know I can run longer than you today so I'm so grateful for the the running experience and also the mentality of Being an individual athlete, obviously I did it for so long.
20:00
But yeah, that mindset of the cross-country training is absolutely brutal, isn't it? When it's freezing cold and you're just running laps of like this hill and there's just mud everywhere.
20:12
So it's a difficult sport, but it's one that really, without it, I don't think I would have gone on to play for England.

7 MINS LATER

27:32
Well,
Laura LaverneHOST
0:35
It's great that young girls today can dream of becoming a successful footballer, but when Jill was starting out in her career, the women players had to settle for secondhand kit and miserly wages.
0:46
We used to get the men's hand-me-downs, so in preseason this big black bag would arrive and it would have all the men's kit off the year before, so you'd kind of be scrounging through this bag just trying to find someone who had your same initials.
1:00
There was this physio, I think he must've been about 60 at the time, and he was called Jocky Scott, so it was a J and an S.
1:07
So I would find a...
1:08
But I remember there were these red Reg Vardy jumpers that had gone pink because they'd been through the wash that many times, and we had these shorts, and obviously I was quite a tall, skinny thing, and these shorts were like basketball shorts on us, but we were so happy to just take that kit home and feel like you were part of something.
Laura LaverneHOST
1:37
How on earth did you keep that up?
1:38
I don't know, to be honest.
1:39
I remember setting off for the first day, and I, I was quite an independent child, and I remember being 17 and I had one of them AA road maps, and I said to my mum, I was like, "I think I'm gonna go and sign for Everton," and I set off in my little (laughs) red Peugeot car, going down the motorway, and it was so loud because it only had four gears, and I just literally followed this map.
