What happened over coffee? What happened in the conversations as you bushwalked or whatever? Yeah.
1:47
Yeah, for sure.
1:48
It was really cool because it worked really well together.
1:53
So In John 15 is all about abiding.
1:55
So without planning it, so many of the sessions hit on our formation and how we are formed and how we live together.
2:07
in a healthy way spiritually which of course has so much overlap with our mental and physical well-being as well so it kind of was on the radar from the get-go and um there were people there who were so encouraging about this podcast and they said you know look can you pass on my thanks to dave because i found this podcast and it's been really helpful for me and that was probably one of the conversations that the topics that came, that was highlighted to me the most over the weekend was how much people are just, who are in the situation where they either are struggling with mental illness or mental ill health, or they are a partner of someone who is, or a parent of someone who is, and they're just wanting to find resources that are meet that need in that place of how does my faith work with all of this? And not only that, but how do I find community of other people who don't have to have it explained to them, people who have been through it, who understand it, who get it? Because there is something about the situation where someone goes, I'm also married to someone with bipolar and I get it.

And it's the conversations you don't have to have as well as the conversations you do have.

three.
17:47
Mm.
17:47
"Why am I having this go on? What is, like, at what point is enough enough? Like, God, come on.
17:56
You're not coming to the party." It's hard, too, because you've got some people rolling around the theology, if only you have enough faith, and that is so, so, so damaging when you're using the very last ounce of your emotional- ...
18:17
capacity and your, your s- your b- your faith, your, your last bit of oomph to, to go, "Okay, yeah, let's do this.
18:26
Let's pray.
18:27
I'm believing for a healing," and then you don't get healed.
18:32
That is devastating.

26:20
What do you now do if you're sick to keep your mental health in check?
0:41
What do you want to talk about today, Jess? It'd
0:43
be worthwhile talking about how we respond when someone shares with us that they've received a diagnosis about cancer.
0:52
You know, whether it be bipolar, depression, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, whatever it might be, because there is a lot of talk around the mental health space lately.
1:05
And so a lot more people are sharing that they're going through this space.
1:09
this stuff, that they've received these diagnosis.
1:12
And for people who are hearing this a lot and are not going through it themselves, there can be a little bit of misinformation about the place.
1:20
And it can sometimes feel like, wow, everyone has a diagnosis now.

I mean, you know, if his power is made perfect in our weakness, I feel like then all of us are qualified, right?
