She's gonna be a well-informed patient, right? She's seen my ankle fusion patients.

Jesse DotyGUEST
She's seen my ankle replacement patients, and she's seen the same thing that I've seen, and that is a well-done ankle replacement.

Jesse DotyGUEST
There's no comparison to their excitement and how happy they are when they come back in office with motion and a more natural gait.

Jesse DotyGUEST
And so nothing in this case really concerns me other than her age, which I agree is quite young.

Jesse DotyGUEST
But you can have that discussion with her, and she understands that, is this gonna last the rest of her life or her career? Maybe not.

Jesse DotyGUEST
And you brought up trauma, and I remember a case in my fellowship with Dr. Coughlin, and we had this rock climber who was super active, and she ended up with a talus fracture that healed, no AVN.

Nick StrasserHOST
You know, if they have adjacent joint arthritis, does that factor in your decision-making with some of these patients in fusion versus replacement discussion, or is that something that you're like, "Eh, just kind of," I won't say ignore it, but it has less of a factor than we used to think?
