Um, speaking of pain, uh, Casey, what are the most common signs and symptoms that people should be looking for?
14:37
Absolutely.
14:39
I, I was really struck recently when I was, um, sitting in UVA's Ehlers-Danlos Research Symposium at how many symptoms women with lipedema are experiencing that are also in, um, in hypermobility spectrum disorder.
14:56
So I will name just, just a few of those.
14:59
I think one of the first symptoms, even obvious at, um, you know, at the time of puberty and sometimes even as early as a child being a toddler, is visibly seeing the shape of their legs.
15:14
And so with lipedema, as with every disorder, it can vary widely between patients, but there's kind of two physical appearances, um, the first being a very, um, pear-shaped body, and the second being more of a columnar, like, um, almost like a tree trunk leg.
15:33
Some of those things become visually, um, you're able to observe them prior to the patient even reporting any symptoms.

Um, what evidence is there for the things that, you know, were just mentioned or the things that you think are most beneficial?
