What do we think is the most viable option? Is there one of these over the other that sounds more appealing and like it'll bring more longevity to the league?

Well, there's a lot to unpack there, isn't there? And it, something that is certainly true is that licence is worth a lot more now than it was 12 months ago.

Knowing that expansion is not going to happen in 2027 means the real only way to entry at this point for any interested group will be through that Giants licence.

I think it's important to remember too that there's history repeating here.

I feel like every iteration of a national netball competition has struggled with this expansion question, particularly when it comes to balancing risk with financial sustainability.

And I am perhaps the only one on the call old enough to remember the Swifts and the Sandpipers, and the Hunter Jaegers during their heydays du- 2004 to 2007 in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy.

This discussion about expansion into Newcastle I find really interesting given that experiment was already run in the early 2000s when the Jaegers really struggled both competitively and commercially.

Yeah, look, th- this perhaps ended up being the most exciting game of the round, which is certainly not something any of us would have predicted be- uh, at the beginning of the weekend.

The Mavs really won that game with some really smart changes from the bench and some incredible transition down court.

I think something we've seen evolve in the Mavs game across this season is that Jared Murphy is much more familiar with what his players have to give to him in any given moment.

So it's not just about, okay, let's bring on, uh, Palavi and swap her out for Nelson and see how we go.

Now it feels like the whole attack end is adjusting to a moving circle.

Um, often he's using Palavi and McDonald together, and it's clear that those two are connecting really well in training.
