Has Iceland become a victim of its own photographic success to a degree?
15:03
Yeah.
15:04
I mean, I think, I think it's, um, more than photography.
15:09
I think it's become a victim of social media in general, uh, because the thing that I see is that photographers, you know, is, it's a very small group of people compared to the overall tourism industry in Iceland.
15:25
Uh, even though it may seem that because photographers are very present on social media, it may seem that, um, they're a really large part.
15:33
Actually, what we are seeing is that, uh, social media, um, uh, have painted a certain paradise picture of Iceland, which is drawing in a lot of people who want to be in those places and want to be seen in those places and want to be photographed in those places.
15:50
And I think if anything, it's probably become a bit of a, a victim of that success, uh, because now everywhere you go there, at, at least along the south coast, for example, at any given time of day, uh, there will be hundreds of people there together with you.

Now, h- how did you go from photographing Iceland itself to becoming known for photographing volcanic eruptions? Like, how, what, what was that? How did that happen?

Uh, what did you guys do in Iceland? Like, what was that trip?
24:18
Yeah.
24:19
I mean, so it has to be...
24:21
It shouldn't be just a holiday, right? It should be a, uh, a scouts-themed holiday.
24:29
So what we decided to do was the first part of a trip, we were gonna hike, uh, through the highlands.
24:36
Uh, and we went, uh...
24:38
Basically, we arrived in Iceland, spent one day in the city, and then the first thing we did and saw of Iceland was an area called Fjallabak, uh, which is where Landmannalaugar is located.
