Like is that how it was for you?

It wasn't, I think, partly because balls were really expensive.

And that was a socioeconomic event that just was not, I think, where my family was at at the moment.

We were okay, but we didn't have a lot of excess finances.

So there was, I think that, I don't know if my dad would say this or not, I think there was some hesitancy of how much he really agreed with or bought into this movement.

But I think he also thought, well, this is what good Christian fathers are supposed to do.

And so he did give me a purity ring on my 13th birthday.

What do you think allowed the people to hold such complexity, which to me is the highest form of moral development? Okay, we white Westerners know so much we need to go in and save them, but they actually have a higher developmental status than we do, right? How did they do that?
