And so I want to start with the beginning of this because I You encountered this phrase of care work is climate work during the pandemic, and that really set you down this path of research and discovery for this book.

Well, it started at the beginning of the pandemic, and I had just been really active in my local community with environmental activism.

I helped organize a climate strike here in 2019, and I felt really connected to the that activist community in a way I hadn't before.

And I wanted to keep moving forward and doing what I could to, you know, help change conversations about climate change and hopefully help us move in a better direction than we have been moving.

But then the pandemic started and suddenly my kids' daycares were closed and they were home all day and I was teaching online and trying to do all of those things at once.

I just couldn't do anything outside of the house anymore.

Like parenting and then my work took up all my time and I didn't have access to those environmental communities anymore.

But how are you balancing that in a way that kind of combines the truth of what's happening without necessarily having You know, taking away some of the wonder and the joy.

[smacks lips] So you are-- You mentioned you're a lawyer and an AI strategist, but, like, w- why the, not necessarily pivot, but, like, why the focus now on this AI strategy thing?

So I got into this because I had sold my renewable energy business.

I took a diversion from being a litigator, which was my original career from law school.

I started a renewable energy business, and then I sold it, and I was looking for something to do.

I knew I wanted to do something in AI because it was everywhere, and it just felt like it was the right thing to do.

But I'm a non-technical person, so I did have a little bit of intimidation, like, well, how am I gonna be, you know, a technical founder? But I got an opportunity.

I was talking to a lawyer who I, uh, used to work for ages ago and asked them what they were doing with AI at the law firm, and he had said, "Gosh, we don't know anything yet.

Maybe it is ready." So I know I've just given you some homework to do, Jen, 'cause you like to go research that stuff.
