Could you tell us a little bit more about different experiences that you've had?

I was able to attend Terra Madre, a slow food gathering, in 2007 as part of Slow Food International and Slow Food Saskatchewan.

And I remember going to the last Canada gathering, it was a Canada picnic on the last day, and meeting in Turin, Italy.

a couple who would become my pork producers, my pork suppliers for my restaurant.

I had a small restaurant in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, in the middle of farm country.

And just thinking, oh my goodness, I had to travel to Europe to meet someone who was 80 kilometers away from my restaurant.

So I like to stay local.
