So in your paradigm shift towards brain-based care, what does that mean? So what would that mean for someone coming in with depression or anxiety? How do we conceptualize mental health in this paradigm shift?

yeah so i like to say uh when i'm when i'm working with with folks doing mentoring and training and stuff it's not so much about diagnostic categorization it's about symptom etiology now let's unpack that right um i found a lot of times that right what we do in our assessment is we figure out the checklist and say okay based upon the checklist you have adhd Okay, cool.

Well, now we know that we can give you a stimulant or we can do this or whatever.

And so we've kind of got this flow and yet, well, what we've come to realize with brain-based care, right? And I'm going to say by brain-based care, what I'm referring to is looking at the actual functioning of the organ primarily responsible for behavior, your brain, right? Every thought you have, every idea you have, every decision you make, every sense perception that you have, it's all mediated through electrical current.

We have very simple ways, pretty simple and straightforward and easy to access brainwave data, EEG, electroencephalogram, which some people go, really, that's easy? Well, it's pretty hard to really understand EEG, but it's not hard to get one.

We can actually acquire information about the functioning of the EEG reasonably quickly.

I tell folks, I can have research grade EEG acquisition typically within 10 minutes from a 19-channel presentation and acquire, boy, if I even get six minutes of each one of those, I can get really good assessment data in a half an hour.

How does your assessment look different than what we typically do now? And how does it look the same?
