When did you figure out who he was?

That's a story in itself.

Obviously, there are different sorts of unions here and there, et cetera, but, but how would you compare the approaches? Are they broadly compatible or also as, of course, we see quite directly in the c- case of, uh, New York seven, also sometimes in tension.

Broadly, th- they have been com- compatible with, with some exceptions.

I think on the DSA front, in, in areas where there are strong DSA chapters, like what we're seeing in New York, I think that we're actually at a really good fit for each other coalitionally.

Um, and when we're doing our candidate recruitment process, if we see somebody is a local DSA elected, that's an immediate green flag for us, uh, values-wise and, and someone who we feel like they're, they're likely to be aligned with us.

The DSA is, you know, a member organization.

They're trying to build a, a member base, and we are not.

Um, we're an organization that does campaigns and, and wages the factional war through Democratic primaries.

Why was this period such a rough one for JD and for the left more broadly? What, what accounts, in your view, for the just collapse in left enthusiasm, particularly for the elec- electoral project during this period? What accounts for that on the one hand, and on the other hand, the increase in our opponents' power and enthusiasm?
