so he, he remembers.

And, but where I'm, I'm grateful, man, is like, whenever he's ready to have that conversation, like, Like I'm, I'm, I'll be here, you know, like this is not a, Hey, let's sweep it underneath the rug and forget it ever happened.

It's like, no, like I'm looking forward to having, because one of the things I had to, I mean, talk about, hopefully I don't start tearing up here after going to Cleveland.

Like one of the things the therapist showed us was when he is in a state where he is a danger to himself or others, you have to physically restrain him.

And what that looked like was me putting one leg over his waist, another leg over his chest and me holding his, his hands, his wrists.

And I had to do that at least a dozen times after that.

We got more gray in our hair than we did taking Jeff Rose.

Right.

Right? But now it's, you know, complex mathematics and a variety of other skills that we're trying to produce.

But in the meantime, um, those, while those are important, there's much more that we should be learning and exposed to in schools, and sometimes there aren't, there aren't necessarily programs for that, but we talk about our students need to be critical thinkers, uh, in this case leaders, and what does that actually look like, especially as it relates to how are we preparing kids for a world that's very different than what we kind of graduated into, right? That, that quote of preparing students for their future, not our past.

Yeah

... happened yesterday.

Um, we have this organization, um, you know, around here called, uh, MEAC, and basically it's a series of, uh, universities.

Um, it's a, you know, a D1 programs that, you know...

And these are, you know, African American, um, colleges and universities, um, HBCUs, and I was at this event, and thousands of students were there, and it's basically, you know, they're, uh...

[laughs]

So by the time that I was eight, I knew, I knew how much I hated going to church, and my family always went to church.

We never, ever didn't go to church, so this was unavoidable for me.

And what I really hated the most about this was that they would demean me.

They would dress me up in this little pinstriped suit, this little blue pinstriped suit with a little clip-on tie.

And if you see little boys in Brooklyn on a Sunday, um, dressed up in, in suits, they all look like kind of...

You know, like-
