If somebody retires and they have young children or if somebody dies.

Yeah.

If somebody retires and they have young children, you know, in high school or beneath the age of majority, if they're 18 or up to 19 and still in high school, they can receive benefits.

If their parent is old enough to be collecting social security, there's benefits available for those children.
8:08
And then unfortunately, when a parent passes away, there are benefits for those children as well.
8:14
And it can be quite significant.
8:16
I talked about my client had three young boys All three of them received benefits from Social Security.

So one thing I think you could be surprised by, if a surviving spouse qualifies for both their own social security benefit and a survivor benefit, do they simply receive which one is larger or is there actually some strategy behind that?
