That's right.
3:07
Uh, but we get our word rapture is, uh, really a transliteration from a Latin word, uh, translated by Jerome in the fourth century, where he took the, uh, Greek word harpazo, oh, in 1 Thess 4:17, and he translated that into Latin, into, uh, rapiare, which the noun form is rapturo.
3:24
And so we just translate that.
3:26
And it really, a- again, it doesn't matter what we call the rapture, as long as we find out is it taught in the Bible.
3:32
Like the Trinity.
3:33
We don't have to call it the Trinity, but it's in the Bible, so.
5:01
Um, uh, many other evidences as well.
5:02
Yeah, also another strong evidence is in 1 Thess, uh, chapter 1 verse 10, where Paul talks about, in the context of talking about the day of the Lord, the rapture, return of Christ, he says that, uh, we are waiting from, uh, for Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.
7:44
this century I think my listeners have heard these stats they're up on that and the world looks at it they have no idea what to do about it but I think the answer is hiding in plain sight Jeff because back in the 70s and 80s youth I think we were facing similar chaotic world conditions and changes and the Lord did a lot for us and it had to do with Bible prophecy talk about that future hope student conferences what are those
8:13
Yeah, great question.
8:14
Thank you for asking.
8:15
Well, I spent 25 years of my adult life in student ministry and pouring into teenagers and young adults during that time.
8:24
My philosophy of ministry was always, let's just give them the truth and love them fervently.
8:29
Those two things were really a one-two power punch, and it produced lasting disciples.
8:35
I mean, the people that went on to be missionaries and pastors and And people who are out in ministry today and gone to seminary and all this stuff and godly husbands and fathers and moms.

So talk to us a little bit about just having that, you know, complete full narrative of Scripture will lead to the correct understanding and teaching of Bible prophecy.
7:38
So how do we put that together?
7:43
Yeah, so the covenant theologian or the replacement theologian would say, no, there's one people of God from eternity past to eternity future.
7:52
And in a sense, you can sort of understand that salvifically.
7:56
But what God did with the nation Israel is he made a covenant with them as a nation, not with individual Jews, but with the nation.
8:04
And that's what we're talking about when we talk about God's promises to Israel.
8:08
Now, there is obviously a salvific element within that with the new covenant.
8:13
And now, in the church age, we have Jew and Gentile mixed in the church.

Many books, books on the days of Noah, books on Revelation, books on the Olivet Discourse, great stuff, really deep stuff, and I encourage you pastors out there, Bible teachers, teach about the second coming of jesus teach about what the bible says concerning what the future holds because as we just read at the top of the program first thessalonians 4 comfort one another with these words the the promise of the rapture of the church the lord coming again in the clouds and drawing us together to himself that is the comfort of the church now jeff you've written extensively about the rapture the rapture gets a a bad rap from many in christian circles they for some reason they don't like the idea of the rapture i don't get it it's the blessed hope but they seem to really push against that um Why do people have a problem with the idea of the Lord coming before the tribulation to rescue us from the wrath that is to come?
9:22
What do you want to share about that? Go ahead.
9:24
Yeah, it was very interesting for me because as I began thinking about, you know, where would I land? I mean, my official degree is a doctor of theology and apologetics, a doctor of ministry.
9:34
But, you know, there's many different topics you could cover during that.
9:38
But as I began to explore, you know, what God would lead me to begin my thesis on, that topic was really very heavy on my heart.
9:47
And it was because of what I was seeing in the church, what I was seeing in the world.
9:50
And basically, you know, I did a— sort of a control group with a Bible study that I do on Wednesday nights, and they helped me as I walked through this.
10:00
I taught them through about eight different sessions on replacement theology and kind of where that comes from, and it's eventually going into a book about Israel that's in the works right now.

For those that might not understand the location of where they had this big pride fest, please explain that, Jeff, real quick.
4:31
So what's He been impressing upon your heart?
4:34
Well, you know, many times as we walk through our lives, we have experiences with God based upon what we have studied in His Word.
4:41
And recently I was in Israel, in Jerusalem.
4:44
We were shooting a series of videos over there.
4:46
And one of the spots that we shot from, Susie, was a place at the base of the Western Wall, not where they pray, but just south of that.
4:55
And there are these massive stones there.
4:59
that are anywhere from 2 to 20 tons each.

That's my layman's guess, but now I'll hand it to the expert.
