And is wondering if there are any hacks or, or best practices when they're, they are going through their dog's fur to see if, if it had picked up any ticks went out for its walk.

Yeah, it's a really good question without a really simple answer.

Um, you know, where are the area, I guess what I would say is where are the areas that ticks tend to like to go on animals, um, excuse me, um, And so you really just have to kind of highlight the areas you're going to look for because, yes, they can be anywhere on your pet, but a dark-haired dog just makes it more challenging.

But keep in mind that typically – so remember, ticks don't jump.

That's a really common misconception.

They're basically using their front feeler legs – as sensors and then they sense heat and they actually look for light and if the light breaks if they're almost like a photo switch they see oh there's something above me and they're going to start foraging to grab on and so coming back to the question head and neck first that's where we found a few ticks on maggie recently one on her chin literally that was just starting to try and bite in and one right at the collar line so inspect the face the chin the collar remember that the underbelly especially the groin especially if you have a like your dog has a bare belly those are the two number one places to start checking then ears ear flaps inside and out even the ear canal is a favorite place because it's dark then you go to the armpits like the belly and the under and the groin area then you start checking your paws so in order head and neck Underbelly, groin, ears, armpits, paws.

And then you literally, and you should be wearing gloves, by the way, because in theory, if you find a tick, you should use tweezers to grab it as close as you can to the dog's skin.
