Molly ChristianHOST
And Jeff, talk about Plumas Sierra and your broadband business in California, what it's meant for the communities you serve.

Jeff BlaggGUEST
We started in the 1930s when no IOU wanted to make a profit out in the rural areas of California, the Eastern Sierras.

Jeff BlaggGUEST
The farmers banded together and brought electricity through the Electrification Act with Congress to build the cooperative.

Jeff BlaggGUEST
And since that time, in 1987, we started off small, Plumas Sierra Telecommunications with satellite TV and satellite internet, and then up to 2010, we became a, a fiber backbone telecommunications carrier through the American Reinvestment Recovery Act.

Jeff BlaggGUEST
We received a grant building 198 miles of fiber optic cable from Reno to Susanville to Quincy, and that's been the cornerstone and what we have utilized, uh, ever since to be able to build out to all our members.
