But I mean, I can't even fathom.
21:58
Yeah.
21:59
Yeah.
22:00
that time really pulled on my heart to like want to do something right like I was seeing patients in my clinic but like we were all online and I was you know seeing kind of living a little bit vicariously through like the physician Facebook groups and like seeing the the outpouring of posts of like how people were like really really struggling like even while they went to work even while they put on their their white coat and PPE and all that kind of stuff like struggling a lot with anxiety and depression and like hopelessness and fear and all of the things that are very that we, you know, we can we can imagine.
22:36
And I wanted to say something about that.
22:39
I wanted to do my part, I guess, right, in trying to offer something in that space.
22:44
And so I started writing.

35:08
And if I want to be doing less surviving and more thriving, where do I start?
7:55
And I feel like if we haven't done the work on ourselves, and that is actually a forever thing, it's not like it's [laughs] one and done, then it becomes really apparent, right? Like, nobody else is gonna come work with us, so clearly you did things very differently based on kinda that s- that space that you just described.
8:12
Yeah, I did, and it wasn't, like, it wasn't a snap of the fingers, right? [laughs] It was a journey.
8:17
It was a process.
8:18
I think a bit of a turning point for me was what I was doing is what most people do, which is, "I'm not feeling great.
8:27
Let me try to fix this." Um, this is what [laughs] physicians are fixers.
8:30
Let me think really hard about, like, what's the problem, and let me come up with a plan, and let me push harder, and let me find, like, what external circumstance in my life I need to change and adjust so that I can get back to [laughs] being happy.
8:42
And so I spent a long time doing that.

13 MINS LATER

21:25
Like, what is, like, the first three things that somebody should be thinking about? If they're listening, they're like, "Oh, my God, I'm in burnout," what are the first three things I should be do- thinking about, small things? And then over time, what is just a general kind of idea that you wanna leave us with? Like, "Hey, this is what I want you to be thinking about in order to prevent another episode of burnout."
