Yeah, firstly, I really like the way you put it in terms of taking something that's quite kind of quantitative and technical and bringing it back to the customer.
11:19
Because I agree, like almost the whole strategy is in essence, if we imagine a physical retail space, which I sometimes try and do, because we get so wrapped up in our little econ world that we forget that we are kind of just an online version of that.
11:31
But If I walked into a physical retail space and someone came over to help me and they were like, what's brought you in today? And I was like, I'm just browsing.
11:40
You probably would leave me alone to an extent.
11:43
But if someone else came in and said, yeah, I'm actually in here today because I'm looking for a black t-shirt that's made of this material.
11:50
you're probably going to be all over that person.

you know,

bigger

and bigger.
17:06
And I just keep trying to compensate for that gap by just doing more work and just trying to continually roll my sleeves up rather than Finding systems, processes, hires, all that sort of thing, again, kind of plays into the whole financial anxiety.
17:21
Well, if I've added 5K a month to the net profitability, I can either hire someone for 3K a month to support with that.
17:27
Or I can take that in my back pocket and feel better about the fact that the bills will definitely be paid and just work an extra 20 hours a week.
17:33
At some point that became completely unsustainable.
17:37
So it sounds a bit like a funny story, but me and my wife, we got married and we had a broad wedding.

So that,
11:37
Like, are there r- different metrics or tools or rules of thumb for like, you know, price points of the products, you know, search volume? Like, what are you looking at to arrive at, okay, I'm gonna sell pergolas and outdoor kitchens and gazebos and stuff?
11:51
It always starts with a brainstorm ideation and I always say to people like try and cast the net as wide as possible because I've seen people who dropship like toilet supplies, like public toilet sinks and urinals and things like that and do really well.
12:06
So it doesn't have to be sexy and it isn't always gonna be the, the drones, the e-bikes, the things that immediately spring to your mind. There are so many high-ticket products, i.e., products over 1,000 US dollars out there, and some of the, like, small B2B niches and stuff can be absolutely amazing.
12:24
So I would say, like, the first thing is having a really good ideation session with something like ChatGPT, Claude, whatever you want, and, you know, kind of just prompting it and saying like, "Talk to me about some of the small businesses that we could, we could target here.
12:37
Talk to me about some of the really, really intense passion and hobbies.
12:42
What about sports?" Like, all these different areas where there's high-ticket products, and get a big list.
12:47
And then I would try and get that big list down to a shortlist that you can interrogate, and that's when I start getting into the actual, the metrics, the search volume, et cetera.
