So Johnna, as you're going through this, you're taking a look, you're interviewing people, you're pulling stories, you're diving deep, pulling out these crazy statistics, but was there something that shocked you the most while you were researching and writing this? Was there anything that surprised you?

For me, it was fraud.

I mean, having worked in restaurants in my career too, like, the petty theft and some of that, those are known schemes, right? But it was this, this fraud in multiple ways.

So for instance, we interviewed a former HR executive of a major b- restaurant brand, and she said that they estimated 20% of their employees were skimming credit cards at any moment, which totally shocked me until I got online and realized that you can easily buy a skimmer from a Far East Amazon lookalike, I'll call it that.

Uh, so it, it's accessible, right? People can get it.

There was fraud from managers that would do ghost employees or CPAs.

They would create a fake employee in the payroll system and clock that person in and out, and then send their paycheck to their bank.

I don't wanna give everything away 'cause we gotta read the book, but what did you learn? You know, give me a tidbit of that mindset of who and why are people doing this.
