It's kind of amazing they're not constantly in flames.

And the truth is, cars, you know, like, they, it, they're better now in a lot of ways when it comes to catching on fire, and I'll, I'll explain what's changed.

But I've had plenty of old cars.

I sti- my daily driver cars are still old cars that use carburetors.

Carburetors are these things that mix fuel and air, and as a byproduct they also leak gas all the time as they get old.

You know, I have had many cars where the carburetor was right above the very hot exhaust manifold, and it would just dump gas right on there, and you could see it smoking and almost catching on fire.

... gasoline in many cases.

Um, d- do you have any sympathy with these, um, leasing companies who say that they're losing hundreds of millions of pounds?

Um, you know, it's, it's a little difficult to feel a lot of deep-felt, honest sympathy to a leasing company, but I do believe what they're saying is true.

And, uh, there's, there's valid reasons for it.

And, uh, it's something kind of inherent to the way we're building electric cars currently.

And it's a genuine problem.

The... 'Cause the used car market serves, you know, especially in America, uh, there's not really a good amount of affordable cars.

So the used car market is extremely important for people who just need cheap basic transportation.

A- and what about the market in the US? Because, uh, this is purely supposition, but, uh, I imagine that drivers in the US are driving much longer distances than in the UK, so the- the- the range anxiety for Americans must be in excess of what it is for British people.
