So now for real, how are you? How's getting home or
10:02
what's up? I am awesome.
10:05
I mean, not meaning that I'm awesome, but I'm feeling awesome.
10:10
I'll tell you what I was.
10:11
I was saying during that tour.
10:15
And a lot of it had to do, and the three of you know this, being able to really spend as much time on my own.
10:21
You know, I drove, which was really helpful.

Yeah
28:56
... not the kids at, they're 10 and 11, their parents were.
28:59
So I didn't notice anything.
29:01
Dad came up to LA to become, you know, one of The Wrecking Crew bass players.
29:04
And, and so I was in San Diego and my mother had bands and, and, um, I joined her band at 14, and she was always, and still is, my Northern Star that just always was showing me the belief and encouraging.
29:19
And so she kept pounding on me, "You gotta sing." 'Cause bass was very natural.
29:25
I got my dad's thing.

Anyway, go ahead.

Are you a daily writer? Are you journaling? I mean, how is it that you're able to just open yourself up and receive?
7:11
Great question.
7:12
And I agree with you.
7:14
It comes from repetition.
7:15
You know, I used to, when I joined Chicago, um, I was stepping into something that they were hoping, not expecting, you know, they were hoping that I would be writing songs on the level of what Peter Cetera was doing, which is virtually impossible.
7:32
I mean, at the peak of Chicago's career, um, um but i was always pretty good at writing melodies and and chord changes so what happened is that i was getting with the greatest lyricists in the world i didn't think that i had time to experiment you know i wasn't going to say okay i got this great melody and chord progression so i'm going to sit here and and the labor trying to write a lyric.
8:00
No, I'd call the greatest lyricists in the world and boom.

I love the way you use the word band because how many people say me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, but you said band, which really, really inspired me.
