What do you have to do in order to take that same approach and apply it to these compressible fluids?

Jared StackGUEST
Yeah, so, you know, in its easiest, you know, version, you know, leak detection for a incompressible fluid, kind of everything that goes in comes out, right? And things get complicated with some transients and stuff that I think we've talked about on some other episodes.

Jared StackGUEST
If you ever always have a pipeline, if you push on one end, it comes out the other end, right? With a compressible fluid, that doesn't necessarily happen, right? So there isn't, you can, you can increase the pressure and instead of it coming out the other end, it can just compress inside the, inside the pipeline.

Jared StackGUEST
So you really have to take into account that physics, which in our pipeline world, it's the inventory, right? So you could have more BTUs in the pipe under the same volume, right? So you can just squeeze in a little bit and do that.

Jared StackGUEST
So that makes leak textually harder because it's not necessarily everything that goes in comes out because you could also, instead of having it come out one end, it can compress in the middle.

Jared StackGUEST
And pipeline operators use that kind of fluid property to their advantage You know, so you could talk to a gas pipeline operator that has opposed to crude oil where we have tanks on the other end and that's where we store excess crude.
