Yeah.

And if I could, could I preface some of his family history? Yeah, absolutely.

All of that.

I think as you look at his life story, it's very important to question, how is this concept of service something that's imbued in him from the very get-go? And as is the case with all of us, we're inherently shaped by our family story.

And family stories were even more powerful in the 1900s and the 1910s as Jimmy Stewart is growing up because there's hardly any form of mass entertainment as we know it today.

Movies are just getting started.

And then what happened right afterwards? What? surprises you the most that people don't understand about Jimmy and his service to the country?

Right

... sometimes in the same neighborhoods who are turning against each other.

And so even though we think of the American Revolution in kinda star-spangly awesome ways, um, it's important to note the incredibly tragic consequences that it unleashed for untold thousands of people who experienced it.

Uh, you have, uh, on one hand, the patriot-minded folks who gain their freedom, they form a representative government, they embark on this great experiment, as you allude to.

If you're a Native person, though, chances are you're going to be displaced, perhaps beyond the Mississippi River.

If you're a loyalist living in a place like Philadelphia or even, you know, right here in the New York area-

Right.

And so that's a really crucial element of all of it.
