Ep. 159 - God of the Old & New Testament - Dr. Jannes Smith
J
26:32Jannes SmithGUEST
I think that if you have a perspective where God is love and therefore, um, we find ourselves attracted to passages in which God is portrayed as kind and merciful may satisfy us in times when life goes well, but it doesn't really satisfy us so well in the harder times of life.
J
26:55Jannes SmithGUEST
Um, if you were to, uh, talk to victims of injustice and abuse who feel powerless because it feels as though there is no one on their side, um, love means that there's someone there for them who protects them from abusers and who protects them from people who treat them horribly and is someone who is with them no matter what.
J
27:22Jannes SmithGUEST
Um, or you might think of persecuted Christians who have gone through horrible traumas in which they have seen their loved ones, um, killed and their properties taken away.
J
27:35Jannes SmithGUEST
They can really identify with the need for a God of justice, uh, because they need justice.
