That would suggest that he knew that there were people that were coming.

Now, another thing that Baiumi says in the interview with the police is that it was a very brief encounter with the hijackers, that when, after he got them their apartment, he left town.

He didn't really like them.

He didn't want to socialize with them.

He basically didn't have any contact, very much contact with them after that one act of support.
