Dave AlbrechtaHOST
Like what stood out to you f- about their emotional state, you know, when people were calling us? Um, and primarily, obviously, we're talking about mostly people who were looking to sue someone because they had lost a job or whatever.

Jane LutzGUEST
Um, well, definitely at the very beginning when we were having like live phones and I was answering the, you know, the calls as they were coming in, uh, y- I would say at least 50% of the calls coming in, you could hear the frantic-ness in, in the caller's voice of, "I need someone to hear me.

Jane LutzGUEST
I need someone to listen to this entire story." And so many times it was like, I think I could have been better at being firm and cutting people off, but I think that's probably my, you know, psychology background of I can feel that this person just needed to speak and, you know, letting them tell their whole story.

Jane LutzGUEST
Sometimes they would end, and I would get chewed out because I would tell them like, "This isn't really the right firm for you." Um, but sometimes you could sense just even a relief of, "I just got to s-say this whole thing." And I'm sure they say it to anyone who will listen, but I think, um, that's what stood out to me the most is just that people really wanted to be heard and not just heard from like necessarily a lawyer hearing them and like picking apart and analyzing and trying to find the little detail that, that works, like the bullet point that like fits this, you know, certain criteria that we need for a case, but just someone to sit and listen and like take in their whole story.

Jane LutzGUEST
Um, because I think when, for any client, whether it's, you know, job-related or heavier than that, it's, it's a burden to carry that.

Dave AlbrechtaHOST
And then what did you notice in those, in that like early phase about what people expected or wanted or, you know, what they were looking for?
