So how do we help people coming into it to understand the impact? And it only might be small and fleeting, but what they're doing is still important.

Well, again, it all links in because it's about humility.

It's about the humility of we show up, we've come into the world come into this world to make a difference we want to help so we want to look for the evidence that we're helping we want to look for the evidence that we're helping the child grow in some way and feel good about i you know i made a contribution to that that's part that's why we're here however the the harsh realities of what our children have been through and how that will resonate and ripple for them throughout the rest of their lives you know our children become adults um um And some of these things I'm saying come from care-experienced adults.

You know, Your Life, Your Story, Jackie McCartney, Rachel Dudley, they talk a lot about the children we serve become adults.

And when we're working with children, it's helpful to remember that our children become adults.

So we're not only serving the child, we're working to serve the adult they become.

So those resonances and ripples throughout the child's life Even if I'm working with a child for five years, and how many of us get to work with the child for five years in the care system? Put that into the context of 50, 55, 60, 85 years, and even five years is fleeting.
