Um, first of all, tell us what is your interest in the kind of educational side of things with regards to breeding, and why are you enjoying being part of the education committee and things as well, Jan?

Well, I started off as a small breeder, um, probably some 30 years ago, aiming to, um, breed a sprint handicapper, and ended up, um, with, um, some nice horses along the way.

Um, but I realized that you always need help with everything you do, people to help you along.

Um, and I love the idea of helping out to get people to, um, learn about the industry and become involved in the industry.

And we've kept recently our, our mares at the National Stud who do a lot of, um, the training courses, um, that are supported by the TBA.

Um, and one of the best things I find is when you go racing, and you see one of your horses racing, and someone comes up to you and said, "Do you know I foaled your mare when I was on my training course?" And I think it is the most wonderful thing.

Um, I was myself a teacher for quite a while as well, so I'm very interested in education.
