Jamie Sample and her father, Dale Hempstead, tell us more.
4:24
Six years.
4:25
So my dad gets, um, supplies from Springfield Plastic, and they have always ran, for quite a while, Drain for the Cure.
4:33
Well, my dad's client base is farmers, and he's a farmer, so we decided to put a little spin on it, which they thought was fun, and they kind of helped us, and we decided to call it Grain for the Cure.
4:44
So with that being said, we started off by kind of just going to farmers.
4:49
Uh, we wrote letters, we posted on Facebook, and flyers were handed out at the local elevators.
4:55
So what happened is, um, our first motto was, "Can you just donate a splash of grain?" So literally my dad would offer and volunteer to drive a grain cart around.

People could just put a splash of their grain in the grain cart.
6:35
Mm.
