But, uh, Jamie, uh, uh, when you look at the frustration, how frustrating is it that they can't score a run again against a team that many predict should be a W, uh, especially to at least take two of three against the Athletics?

I think the, um, the aggravating aspect of today's loss was multilayered.

One, without any disrespect truly intended, beyond, say, Luis Medina, they didn't face a pitcher that anybody's ever heard of before.

Um, but more importantly, I firmly believe that the demise of this team, if they end up out of the postseason picture at the end of the regular season, the biggest reason has been the historic regression of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

And we could probably spend hours trying to figure out why that is the case.

Um, no sense in me getting into the mechanical aspects of it 'cause I never played a game in the Major Leagues and don't have the tenure nor the right to, uh, to try and even analyze it.

I am certain that for some time he's had many voices in his ear, but perhaps the most prominent in recent years, the one voice that might have been able to, um, to help him, is now a member of the New York Mets in Bo Bichette.

What, what, what was that relationship like that you think Bo would've been able to, to help Vladi a- and maybe not have had the slumps we've seen?

Has anything like that come up? I mean, they're really small, but any moment where you kind of saw something that you've planned knowing that it has worked for a while and then suddenly you've had to pivot? Has anything like that come up?

Yeah.

I mean, listen, we try things all the time that don't work.

All the time.

It could be programming.

It could be food.

We have a chef on site that cooks everything from scratch every day.

So what do

I'd be in my locker pulling my hair out if I was John Schneider.

You, given how long you played, would understand that when things aren't going well, it's not quite as fun to be around the ballpark.

And so I get the impression that the reason this team looks as joyous as it does, and we're not talking about every player here.

Let's be quite frank.

There are some long-faced members of this team.

But for the most part, the core of their lineup is, are guys who have always expressed that when playing.

And the greatest example of it is Ernie Clement, who by some standards has no right to have the kind of major league career he's having, given that he was rejected by two teams within a year.

But for the most part, do the Jays see this guy as a future

Yeah, I do.

Okay.

And now, oh my goodness, I don't think I could give you one, because I've gotten to know them over my 22 years, players I love like Marco Estrada and Chris Colabello and Josh Thole and Ernie Clements-

but what I did know is I had this dream.

So I just very slowly followed the root of my dream, and though there were many, many times where I wanted to give up 'cause I didn't feel I was achieving anything, I just kept going.

And eventually, I found my way to where I am now, which is part of the Blue Jays broadcast team now for 22 years.
